Tamizh is considered one of the oldest languages of the world that is still in use. The culture of Tamil is Sangam, which is a parallel to the Vedic. Sangam people were predominantly shamanic and animistic in their ideology and had their own traditions and customs. The unusual aspect that makes Sangam most unique and rich as an ancient culture is how they used ecological terrains as the deciding criteria for forming social structures. During the medieval times, the sangam and vedic practices were absorbed and reinvented to accommodate new ethnicities, giving way to new cultural identities in the form of a sentiment. Temple traditions became the result, making South of the Vindya as the karma bhoomi.
“The trail path is planned as a road trip covering rare temple destinations from Chennai and ending at Madurai. This will interest the hard core PS fans wanting to know more about Sangam culture and the contemporary dynasties of Chola. The hidden underlying tone for this journey is gandha: the fragrance of every location will etch lasting memories and redefine taste.
